Harare | Contemporary Afro jazz musician, Andy Muridzo, paid lobola for his girlfriend, Rumbi, in a traditional ceremony in Waterfalls, Harare, on Sunday.
The couple had been dating for two years.
The musician paid more than US$5k for his special woman.
Muridzo has had relationship troubles in the past and divorced his first wife in November 2018.
He has since had relationships with various women, including Kundai Mukuu, Nyarai Mukucha and Tasha Green, with whom he has a child.
However, he claims to have found love with Rumbi and is now settling down.
“Congratulations are in order, Andy paid lobola for his long-time sweetheart Rumbi.
“We are happy to welcome her and wish the two a happy marriage,” confirmed Andy’s trusted lieutenant, Ronald Mujuru.
Ronald also confirmed Andy’s new woman is from Honde Valley in Manicaland and that the two met during an outing.
Andy was in the company of his close friends, including musician Dadza D, Carlos Green and promoter Nyasha ‘Machembere’ Dope and his two uncles, at the lobola ceremony.
Soon after his divorce, Andy started seeing one Kundai Mukuu, but the two had a fallout with Mukuu accusing the musician of cohabiting with Faith Chinyani.
Mukuu even has a tattoo of Andy’s name on her back.
In 2019, the dreadlocked musician publicly engaged Nyarai Mukucha, with the blessing of his father, Pastor Kudzai Andrew Ngwenya.
The following year, the artist paraded Tasha Green as his new woman at his shows when she was four months pregnant with his child.
He promised to marry her.
Quizzed about his son’s challenges, Andy’s father said all his marriages were spiritual and no one had the answer.
