Angolan President and SADC Chair João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço will lead a virtual Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government on Friday.
The summit will focus on addressing the cholera situation across the SADC region, with a special report on outbreaks in member states like Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Discussions will include assessments of preparedness and responses to the ongoing situation.
The cholera outbreaks, impacting several member states, are in line with the African Regional Framework for the Implementation of the Global Strategy for Cholera Prevention and Control, which aims to eliminate cholera as a public health threat globally.
