Archford Gutu is now STRANDED in Dubai and pleading for help to sort out the mess, which he created.
And, that is not the worst part of this sickening tale.
Eight of the kids, who were part of the 17 children which Gutu and his wife – Mona Dube – took on this TRIP FROM HELL, are also stranded with them.
One of the guardians has already reported Gutu to the police for fraud.
The guardian claims the children’s passports were held by hotel authorities when the couple failed to settle accommodation bills.
Reports have indicated that the kids, who were promised they were going on a tour which would open doors for them to secure foreign contracts, are now staying in a sub-standard facility.
A video of Gutu and Mona enjoying themselves in Dubai also infuriated the children’s parents.
Mona, who was pregnant when she flew out with the kids, gave birth in Dubai.
In an audio message posted in a WhatsApp group, Gutu admitted to short-changing parents and asked for their help in persuading the Zimbabwean Embassy to intervene to save the children.
In one audio message in the parents’ WhatsApp group, Gutu said:
“I want to start by thanking you parents and guardians for the trust you gave me to take your children to Dubai.
“To be honest, I failed to manage my funds and the children are facing some challenges here.
“Ndiregerereiwo nezvandaitisa vana izvi, uye football fraternity ndiregerereiwo nezvandaita.
“I beseech you parents and guardians to help me in persuading the (Zimbabwe) Embassy to consider my challenges and intervene to save our children.”
Contacted for comment, Gutu confirmed the hardships he and the children were facing.
“Now, that I’m stuck you want to ask me kuti kurisei.
“Bad news travels fast.
“As a brother, why wait until now?
“Ndakauya rinhi kuno,” said Gutu.
