30 Years Missing: Kidnapped Baby Returns to Family in Emotional Reunion

A man who was abducted as a two-week-old baby by a stranger and raised as her own child has been reunited with his biological family 30 years later.

Matthew Bwazo, who had his name changed to Tinashe James Ncube, was born on May 19, 1994. Just two weeks after his birth, he mysteriously disappeared from his family. Now, after three decades, he has finally been reconnected with his parents.

The reunion has left the Masvingo community stunned. His parents, Sarah Zhou, 48, and Clever Bwazo, endured the agony of their son’s disappearance for 30 years.

According to reports, the case was solved with the help of a Mwazha church prophet, who informed the family that their missing son was living in Kadoma under a new identity. DNA tests conducted in Gweru confirmed that Matthew was indeed the child that Sarah and Clever had been searching for all these years.

Following the revelation, a police report was filed at Chikato Police Station, and Simangaliso was arrested. Although she spent a few days in custody, both families later agreed to an out-of-court settlement.

Matthew, now a married father of four and a truck driver, has reunited with his biological family. In a family WhatsApp group, Simangaliso admitted to abducting the child, saying she did so to deceive her husband into believing she could have children.

The family has chosen forgiveness, with Clever Bwazo expressing gratitude to God for the return of their son after such a long time. They resolved the matter peacefully, asking only for transportation and court costs as compensation.
