Bulawayo Businessman and Son Accused of Raping Maid with Disabilities

foreign businessman Bulawayo

A 57-year-old foreign businessman in Bulawayo’s Kumalo area faces charges for allegedly raping his 27-year-old maid, who has mental health challenges.

The maid became pregnant after multiple assaults. The businessman denied paternity until a DNA test showed a 99.9% match.

The court postponed the trial for a mental health evaluation, confirming the maid’s Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Mild Intellectual Disability, rendering her unable to consent to sexual activity.

The businessman’s son was acquitted of similar charges. The family seeks legal action to appeal this decision.

The businessman pays $60 monthly for child support but denies allegations, claiming extortion. The case raises concerns about vulnerability and exploitation.
