Bulawayo Fire Brigade Battles Blaze at NRZ Technical Workshops

A fierce fire has erupted at the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) technical workshops in Bulawayo, with the city’s fire brigade working tirelessly to bring the situation under control.

The fire has already destroyed multiple stationary wagons and passenger coaches within the facility.

The blaze broke out unexpectedly and quickly spread throughout the workshop area, consuming valuable vehicles and equipment. Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the fire, which remains unknown at this time.

Witnesses at the scene described seeing large plumes of smoke and intense flames coming from the facility, which prompted an immediate response from the Bulawayo Fire Brigade. Several fire trucks were dispatched to the site, and firefighters continue to combat the fire, facing difficulties due to its intensity.

Further investigations are anticipated to uncover the origin of the fire and assess the full extent of the damage to this crucial railway infrastructure.
