Bulawayo Pastor’s Family Endures Trauma as Robbers Escape with $15,000 in Church Cash

An AFM pastor and his family faced a terrifying ordeal when five armed robbers broke into their home and held them at gunpoint.

The pastor, Jedmos Moyo, had just returned home after dropping off his daughter at school when the incident occurred.

The robbers followed him into the flat located at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Jason Moyo Street in Bulawayo’s city center.

Upon entering the home, one of the robbers grabbed Pastor Jedmos Moyo and held a pistol to his head, while the others handcuffed him and his wife together.

The family was then ordered to lie on the floor as the robbers ransacked the home, demanding money.

They ultimately made off with $15,000 from the church coffers, locking the family inside the living room before fleeing the scene.

The incident was reported to the police, with Bulawayo deputy police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirming the robbery.

She urged churches and other institutions to bank their money rather than keeping it at home, and advised businesses to enhance security measures on their premises.

Despite attempts to reach Pastor Jedmos Moyo for comment, he could not be reached.
