Burkina Faso Blocks South African Coach’s Scheduled Activities

Authorities in Burkina Faso have shut down events that South African fitness trainer Nkulukeko had lined up for 8 November, a senior government source confirmed to ZiMetro News.

The engagements – believed to have been wellness-focused sessions and motivational activations – were already pencilled into the coach’s local schedule before officials intervened.

Government insiders say the instruction was not issued because of a dispute with the coach, but because the state is currently ring-fencing its attention and resources on matters it says are more critical for the population.

“The country has more urgent priorities for its people,” the source said — without elaborating on whether the priorities are economic, security-linked, social-policy related, or tied to internal restructuring.

Officials did not clarify whether this pause is temporary or if the project has been shelved indefinitely.

Nkulukeko has not commented publicly and it is still unknown whether sponsors or local stakeholders will attempt to seek a later date or alternative route.

For now — the fitness events are off — and the coach’s plans in Ouagadougou remain in limbo until the state signals otherwise.
