Harare | The Carpe Diem DJ show at the Old Hararians Sports Club surpassed all expectations, delivering an electrifying night of music and dance to a record-breaking crowd, undeterred by the biting winter chill.
Party enthusiasts braved the cold, flocking to the open-air venue with cooler boxes, picnic gear, and even charcoal heaters to enjoy an unforgettable night.
The event featured 12 DJs from across Africa, including Oscar Mbo, Ryan Synth, Morda, Tannie Swiss, Spunj, Samuel Cosmic, Chiweddar, Sun El Musician, Prince Kaybee, St Emmo, Shaku Chante, and Halu.
DJ Moorda was the highlight of the night, captivating the audience with his set from start to finish. His performance was so enthralling that the crowd clamoured for more, but he had to pass the decks to Ryan Synth from Bulawayo.

Synth kept the energy high with a mix of local hits and popular Amapiano tracks, keeping the crowd dancing and engaged.
Moorda’s set was not just a musical experience; his dynamic dance moves added a visual spectacle that thrilled the audience, making his performance the most talked-about of the night.

However, not all acts connected as successfully with the crowd.
Prince Kaybee’s set, while containing familiar crowd-pleasing hits like rhumba blasts from the past, generally fell flat and struggled to maintain the high energy set by previous performers.
On the other hand, the Chiweddar brothers, Daniel and David, delivered a mesmerizing performance.
They opened their set with Daniel showcasing his prowess on the keytar, playing along to David’s beat selection, creating a unique and immersive musical experience.
Their seamless transition and energetic performance brought the party to a climax just after taking over from DJ Spunj, only to be somewhat tempered by Prince Kaybee’s subsequent set.
“It is the best event I have attended so far. Hopefully, Jacaranda Music will make this an annual show because sometimes we just need to chill and listen to a variety of music instead of just attending live shows,” said fan Ralph Magowa.
The event, managed by organizer Walter Wanyanya and his team, concluded at midnight as scheduled, with their efficient handling ensuring the smooth flow of the night and covering any potential glitches seamlessly.
Walter Wanyanya thanked fans through his social media and said, “Thank you so much for making #carpediem a JUMP. My team and I appreciate your support. Without your support, all our events would be pointless. Are you ready? @jacarandamusicf is LOADING!!!!! Last night was great, but JACARANDA Music Festival is out here doing press-ups right now.”
