Hip-hop superstar Cassper Nyovest, born Refiloe Phoolo, is facing backlash after his former partner and the mother of his child, Thobeka Majozi, revealed that he cheated on her with his now wife during a time when their son was battling cancer.
The revelation, which has sparked widespread discussion online, has seen many people expressing support for Majozi. Cassper has since confirmed that the claims she made are true.
One X (formerly Twitter) user suggested that Cassper’s previous admission of being a “sex addict” was a calculated move to preempt such revelations, commenting: “When Cassper Nyovest confessed in the media that he hurt his baby mama, it was all damage control. He knew one day she’d speak out. He’s manipulative.”
Another user highlighted the gender dynamics involved, noting, “The Cassper and Thobeka situation shows how, for men, parenthood can often seem like a part-time commitment.”
Adding a lighter tone to the serious conversation, Aphelele Tyelbooi remarked that even known cheaters are shocked by Cassper’s actions.
One person voiced their disappointment with the rapper, saying, “I have nothing positive to say about Cassper Nyovest. I hope things get worse for him.”
The timing of the infidelity is what struck a chord with many, as one user explained: “Rereading Majozi’s post, it’s clear that the issue wasn’t just about cheating—it was about when it happened. Their baby was fighting cancer, and for him to choose that moment to cheat was the ultimate betrayal. Forget Cassper and Pulane.”
Meanwhile, YouTube content creator SmallTownDidi offered her perspective, criticizing men who abandon their partners in difficult times.
“Part of men’s self-identity is this idea of being the head of a traditional family—where they’re the star, and everyone else is just a side character. We women are like costume jewelry to them, useful only until we lose our shine,” she explained.
She further added, “There’s such ease in how they discard you when you no longer serve their needs. They stay only as long as everything is perfect, but at the first sign of trouble, they’re gone.”
