Chinhoyi Pastor Accused of Defrauding Elderly Woman of $25,000 Property

A pastor from Chinhoyi, located in Mashonaland West Province, is facing allegations of defrauding an elderly woman of her residential property, valued at thousands of dollars.

According to The Herald, 38-year-old Pastor Desmond Parirehwa, who leads the Deliverance and Solutions Church, is accused of taking advantage of 79-year-old Elizabeth Fadhuka by unlawfully seizing her property, which is worth $25,000.

Reports indicate that Fadhuka entrusted Parirehwa with her property documents when she traveled to the United Kingdom, asking him to safeguard them and later hand them over to her family.

The two reportedly became acquainted in 2010 when Fadhuka was mourning the loss of her two sons. Parirehwa offered her counseling, and they developed a friendship.

In 2012, Fadhuka, who had fallen ill, left for the UK for medical treatment, leaving the documents for her Mzari property in Parirehwa’s care.

However, six years later, when Fadhuka’s daughter, Misitia Marsh, requested the return of the documents, Parirehwa allegedly refused and became uncooperative.

By 2020, he had taken possession of the property, constructed structures on it without Fadhuka’s consent, and transferred ownership to his name.

After multiple failed attempts to reclaim the stand, Fadhuka filed a police report, resulting in Parirehwa’s arrest.

He was released on a $200 bail and is scheduled to appear in court again on March 13.
