Patrick Mutenha, also known as Chimpa, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department’s Vehicle Theft Squad (VTS) and Serious Crimes Unit on charges of fraud, extortion, and unapproved vehicle sales.
Since last Friday, when three charges of fraud, extortion, and vehicle theft were reported against him, Patrick Mutenha had been avoiding arrest.
He was allegedly in the middle of scamming another client at Arundel Village this morning, but the CID VTS crack unit was able to successfully close in on him.
Authorities claim that Mutenha’s business strategy consisted on tricking gullible customers and then selling their cars without permission.
He also allegedly used threats, citing the names of well-known people, including notable figures Scott Sakupwanya and members of the First Family, including Emmerson Jnr. Mnangagwa and Sean & Collins.

The arrest marks a major development in the investigation into Mutenha’s illegal operations, which many victims have reportedly suffered from both financial and psychological pain. Mutenha has allegedly used intimidation and manipulation to take advantage of weak people for his own benefit by abusing his clients’ confidence.
The severity of the allegations against Mutenha was underlined by a CID VTS spokeswoman, who also reaffirmed the department’s dedication to seeing that the victims receive justice. They urged members of the public who could have been duped by such schemes to come forward and help with the current inquiries.
Mutenha is being held by the police while additional legal actions are taken.
Law enforcement officials strongly encourage anyone who may have interacted with Mutenha or who may have knowledge pertinent to the investigation to assist them.
