City Angels Travel and Tours In US$14,000 Fraud Storm
Leslie Simbarashe Gurajena appears in court alongside Evelyn Tahwa, facing allegations of misappropriating US$14,000 intended for travel tickets for Mashrhino Sports Academy

City Angels Travel and Tours and its employees have been implicated in a theft of trust property scam after allegedly deceiving Mashrhino Sports Academy out of US$14,000, which was intended for travel tickets for their team.

Leslie Simbarashe Gurajena appeared in court representing himself and the company, alongside Evelyn Tahwa, before Magistrate Apollonia Marutya. They were released unconditionally, as bail was not an issue, with both appearing from home before their court appearance.

The allegations state that between February and December of the previous year, Mashrhino Sports Academy, through its executive director Alfos Mhondiwa, approached City Angels Travel and Tours to purchase air tickets to Sweden for 12 passengers. Mhondiwa made an initial payment of US$26,385 for the tickets.

However, only four tickets were purchased, and Gurajena, along with his accomplices, allegedly misappropriated US$14,665 for their own use. Despite Mhondiwa’s repeated demands for a refund of the unused funds, the duo reportedly evaded him, offering numerous excuses, empty promises, and ignoring his calls and messages. This led Mhondiwa to file a police report.

The total amount stolen is US$14,665, and to date, nothing has been recovered.
