Dexter Taona Nduna, a member of the ZANU PF Central Committee and former MP for Chegutu West, was arrested last week for allegedly collecting parking fees illegally in Chegutu. On October 15, the Chegutu Magistrates’ Court denied him bail during his second court appearance. He is set to return to court on October 29.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Nduna reportedly misled two motorists into believing he was authorized to collect parking fees on behalf of the Municipality of Chegutu, prompting a police report that led to his arrest.
Additionally, Nduna recently faced setbacks in his attempt to take over parking management in Harare from City Parking (Private) Limited, a company fully owned by the City of Harare.

He acknowledged that he had not conducted the necessary research before announcing that his group, Team Chapter, would assume control of parking in Harare starting October 7.
In a separate incident, Nduna publicly apologized to President Emmerson Mnangagwa for attending a graduation ceremony at the University of Zimbabwe last month, even though he was not among the graduates. He had been pursuing a Bachelor of Substantive Laws Degree but failed three courses, including Energy and Mining Law, Labour Law, and Chinese Language.
