In the new curriculum, PASTOR Charles Charamba has encouraged school leaders to address drug and substance misuse.
According to the seasoned gospel performer, the campaign need to begin in early grades, such as ECD A and B courses.
Pastor Charamba is worried that well-known drug lords are being unpunished.
Similar to what occurred when HIV and Aids were first identified in Zimbabwe, it was taught in schools and the public was made aware of it.
“I think that some of these behaviours, including drug and substance misuse, should be known to children in early courses as ECD.
It’s no longer a secret that this monster has gotten out of control, and the only way we can support one another is by raising awareness of this at the local level.
“We can also teach our people at a young age to address this issue, as I believe that rehabilitation alone is not enough to do,” he said.
The commander of Fishers of Men also said:
Children in the early grades should be educated about societal evils such as sexual abuse in addition to drug and substance misuse.
We want to protect the next generation from some of these societal problems, so there’s nothing to hide here.

Instead of giving up, we need to spread the word about these and other problems with the new curriculum.
“To make sure we reach as many people as possible, we should also preach about these issues at church.”
The government established a task committee to address drug and substance misuse in October.
