Tyrese Gibson arrested on September 9th at the Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta, Georgia, following a court hearing concerning child support for his five-year-old daughter, Soraya.
The R&B singer and actor was taken into custody after Judge Kevin Farmer found him in contempt for failing to pay over $73,000 (£56,000) in child support.
In 2022, Gibson was ordered to pay $10,690 (£8,200) per month in child support. During Monday’s contentious court appearance, the judge informed Gibson that he could avoid jail time if he paid the outstanding $73,526 (£56,300) within 48 hours to his ex-wife, Samantha Lee.
Despite this opportunity, Gibson was seen being handcuffed and escorted out of the courtroom by a bailiff. TMZ was first to report the arrest.

He described his upcoming album, “Beautiful Pain,” as the most significant work of his career, reflecting on the beauty he discovered in his personal struggles.
Gibson has previously expressed dissatisfaction with the family court system, criticizing what he perceives as biases against fathers.
