A tragic event occurred yesterday in Harare Gardens, resulting in the death of a 32-year-old woman as she was making her way to the bus stop located at Five Avenue and Second Street Harare.
According to a witness who was accompanying the deceased, the distressing incident unfolded around 7 pm as they were en route to catch their commute to Mazowe. The witness, speaking to a journalist from Showbiz, recounted that the deceased was approached by the alleged assailant, who demanded her cellphone.

When she refused to hand over her phone, she passed it to the witness, prompting the assailant to chase after the witness.
As the witness shouted for help, the assailant turned back and fatally stabbed the woman in the chest and ribs. Despite efforts, the ambulance was unable to transport her yesterday evening. However, the police retrieved the deceased’s body this morning. Tragically, the woman leaves behind five children.
Additionally, concerns have been raised regarding the presence of the Zimbabwe Republic Police in the area where the incident occurred. Many wonder whether the outcome could have been prevented had law enforcement been more vigilant, especially considering signage indicating police presence in the vicinity.
