A former nurse from Mbizo 5 in Kwekwe has been found guilty of illegally practicing medicine and performing four surgeries in Gokwe.
According to The Herald, Admire Munyeki appeared before Kwekwe Magistrate Grace Tupiri on charges of violating the Medical Act by falsely posing as a medical practitioner and conducting unauthorized medical procedures.
Munyeki admitted to the charges and was remanded in custody, with sentencing scheduled for Thursday.
The court heard that on January 5, 2024, Munyeki, who falsely claimed to be a dental practitioner, extracted two teeth from Stella Sibanda, who later experienced pain and sought help at Samuchembu Health Centre, where the fraudulent activity was uncovered.

On March 1, 2024, Munyeki performed a circumcision on Daison Chelo, who had complained of pain. Chelo experienced complications and reported the issue to Samuchembu Health Centre, where it was discovered that Munyeki was unqualified.
Additionally, Munyeki misrepresented himself as a doctor and operated on Taimon Ndege for a hernia, leading to complications that were later addressed at Gweru Provincial Hospital.
Munyeki also performed unauthorized surgery on Erisha Siakachoma, removing a growth from her neck. Siakachoma subsequently sought treatment at Samuchembu Health Centre.
Munyeki was apprehended by police last Monday at a funeral wake in Chirape, Gokwe.
