Gauteng Police Investigate Gruesome Double Murder After Burned Bodies Found in Car

Gauteng police are currently investigating a double murder following the discovery of two men who were burned to death inside a car in Germiston on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, authorities are looking into the case after two individuals were shot and their vehicle set on fire by unknown assailants.

The incident occurred on October 2, 2024, around 3 p.m., in the Makausi informal settlement in Primrose. The identities of the victims are still unknown, and the motive behind the attack remains unclear as investigations are ongoing.

Ekurhuleni Emergency Services spokesperson William Tladi stated that emergency services responded to reports of multiple gunshots near the intersection of Pretoria and Memosa roads.

When they arrived, a sedan was fully engulfed in flames. Once the fire was extinguished, two adult male bodies were found inside the burned vehicle.

Police have appealed to the public for any information that could assist in the investigation and urged individuals to contact the Crime Stop Line at 08600 10111. They assured that all information would be kept strictly confidential.

In a separate case, a KwaZulu-Natal man, Shaun Naicker, is on trial for allegedly setting his fiancée, Jackie Naidoo, on fire in their Phoenix apartment in May 2022. The State alleges that Naicker used an accelerant to start the blaze.
