The confrontation erupted around 2 am on Sunday, involving Mushonga and his friend, Douglas Pasipanodya, who were both attacked by a group of six unidentified men.

Douglas managed to escape, sustaining injuries to his head, and sought medical attention at Sally Mugabe Hospital.
According to Mushonga’s neighbor, the altercation stemmed from a dispute over women. Allegedly, the attackers, residents of Churu Farm, sought revenge after a previous altercation at the bar. Mushonga’s refusal to comply with their demands to call over some women sparked the violence. Despite being advised to leave the premises, Geodrick Mushonga returned later to find his friend being attacked, leading to his own fatal assault at the hands of the assailants.
The tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning, highlighting the consequences of violence fueled by disputes over trivial matters. The police have launched an investigation into the matter, aiming to bring the perpetrators to justice.
