Harare Man Batsirai Makwengura Wanted for Stealing Thermoplastics Worth US$442 000

A 30-year-old guy from Harare is the target of a manhunt by police after it is alleged that he stole thermoplastics known as Polypropylene (PP) worth US$442,000 from a nearby business.

One of the thermoplastics that is most widely used worldwide is polypropylene, which is used to make fibres and textiles, plastic packaging, and plastic components for machinery and equipment.

In relation to the crime, the police have subsequently detained two individuals, however it is still unknown where Batsirai Makwengura is.

Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the national police spokesman, said that they were still searching for him.

“Nelson Batsirai Makwengura, 30, is sought in connection with a theft case that happened between May 2023 and October 2023.

Harare police are asking for information that might lead to his arrest.

He said that the suspect, together with his two accomplices, Lesley Nyasha Makaka, 30, and Mercy Muza, 44, who have since been taken into custody, took 330 tonnes of Polypropylene HKR102, valued at US$442 000.
