Kwekwe- a shocking incident occurred at Gaika Mine on the morning of October 1. Around 8 a.m., the lifeless body of a woman was discovered, causing alarm within the community.
The body was found by Chrispen Muzembi, a 58-year-old security guard from Mbizo, who was conducting his usual perimeter checks around the mine. As he walked along the fireguard surrounding the mine, he encountered the disturbing sight of a woman’s body lying face up.

The grim discovery raised immediate questions about how the woman ended up there and what had transpired. The tranquil environment of the mine contrasted sharply with the tragic scene he had stumbled upon.
Upon hearing of the discovery, local police were called to investigate further. Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, the spokesperson for the Midlands provincial police, confirmed the details of the incident, stating that the woman’s identity remains unknown, adding an element of mystery to the case.
