In Wellingara Coastal Road, Gambia, a married man named Manlafy Danso, who has two children, is currently under investigation for allegedly running away with his landlord’s 20-year-old daughter.
Danso, originally from Niamina Sotokoi, reportedly vanished with the young woman on Friday, May 3, 2024. Their sudden disappearance has sparked a widespread search effort, as the girl’s parents have filed a formal complaint against Danso.
The girl’s father expressed his deep concern, suggesting that Danso may have used spiritual means to influence his daughter.

“This situation is far from normal,” he said. “He supposedly used some sort of spiritual manipulation on my daughter.
She had just finished memorizing the Holy Quran, and we were planning a celebration for her achievement. Despite our efforts to locate them, they remain missing, and I suspect they might be hiding in a guest house.
Danso is already known to the police for past criminal activity.”
A family relative added, “Manlafy Danso is a dangerous individual, and he has essentially abducted our relative.”
The family is urging anyone with information on the pair’s whereabouts to contact local authorities immediately.
