Zamani Ndlovu, Mehluli Ndlovu, and Mpilwenzima Ndlovu from Gweru were arraigned before the High Court sitting in Gweru on murder charges.
The accused persons were aged 45, 36, and 33, respectively, at the time they committed the offense, while the now deceased was 31 years old.
On June 4, 2023, the accused and the now deceased were drinking beer at a local shop. While drinking, the now deceased referred to the accused persons as his brothers-in-law since one of the accused had a child with the now deceased’s sister. This did not sit well with the accused, who protested before assaulting the now deceased with fists all over his body.

They also struck him with a brick and stabbed him in the thigh, leading to the deceased’s death. The accused were arrested by the police with help from members of the public.
They were all convicted and sentenced to 30 years in prison each. The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe encourages members of the public to desist from violence and resolve their disputes amicably or seek third-party mediation. Zamani Ndlovu
