Harare, Zimbabwe – CONTROVERSIAL local business partners Moses Mpofu and Mike Chimombe, who have been in China, are expected to return home today amidst a storm of controversy and legal challenges.
They are implicated in two major corruption scandals that have rocked the nation.
The first scandal involves the US$87 million Presidential Goats Scheme. Mpofu and Chimombe were paid US$40 million to deliver 632,001 goats, a commitment they failed to fulfill.
This failure has sparked widespread outrage and accusations of fraud and mismanagement.
The second scandal centers around a murky US$40 million tender from the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC). This deal, which has also provoked national uproar, involves their partner Wicknell Chivayo, an ex-convict.

As Mpofu and Chimombe return, they face a wave of public and legal scrutiny. The outcomes of these scandals could have significant implications for their business empire and the broader political landscape in Zimbabwe.
