Former Dynamos captain Murape Murape, now a member of the club’s technical staff, has announced his resignation from the team.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Murape expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to contribute during a transitional period alongside coaches Lloyd Chigowe and Joel Luphahla, noting their efforts helped stabilize the team’s performance quickly.

However, he cited tensions within the club’s leadership particularly regarding his professional honesty and openness as the main reason for his departure. Murape stated it was in everyone’s best interest for him to step aside and allow others to take over.

In his statement, he said:

“I am writing to inform you of my immediate resignation as a football coach at Dynamos FC. I feel honored to have served the club during this transitional time with coaches Lloyd Chigowe and Joel Luphahla, where we managed to stabilize the team’s performance.

After much thought and discussion with my family, I believe the tense situation regarding my honesty and openness with the club’s leadership has led to this decision. I have come to the conclusion that it is best for everyone if I step down to allow for new leadership.

I appreciate the opportunity to work with such an incredible team and contribute to its success. I have enjoyed my time here and am thankful for the experience and skills I have gained. I am confident that I am leaving the team in good hands and wish them all the best for the future. Thank you for your support and understanding.”

In August 2023, it was reported that Dynamos had reassigned then-manager Richard Chihoro and Murape, who was serving as the second assistant coach, following a disciplinary hearing. At that time, Chihoro was moved to the role of liaison manager, overseeing all club teams, while Murape was reportedly reassigned as chief scout for the junior team.

Murape had rejoined Dynamos as an assistant coach in January 2023 after leaving Real Betis Football Academy.
