Murder Probe Launched After Dismembered Body Parts Discovered in Inanda

A murder investigation is currently underway after human remains, including a severed penis, were discovered at a dump site in the Lusaka area of Amaoti, Inanda, on Friday morning.

Colonel Robert Netshiunda, spokesperson for KwaZulu-Natal police, confirmed that a case has been opened at the Inanda police station. “A human head and feet of an unidentified individual were found in a black plastic bag, while a second transparent bag containing human legs was located nearby. Additional items at the scene included blood-stained clothes and a blanket. At this stage, no suspects have been identified,” Netshiunda stated.

According to Reaction Unit SA (RUSA), the horrific discovery was made by a man searching for salvageable items at the dump site. Prem Balram, a representative from RUSA, explained, “The individual found a head and two legs that had been severed below the knees. He immediately alerted the community, which in turn contacted RUSA.”

The remains were reportedly found on top of a pile of refuse, and further examination revealed injuries to the head, suggesting the victim had been physically assaulted before death. Additional body parts were discovered wrapped in a blood-soaked sheet in another plastic bag.

Also found near the remains were a pink child’s jacket and a blue baby blanket, both soaked in blood. In a grim twist, RUSA officers found a severed penis a short distance away, lying on a pathway.
