Men in Zimbabwe are being encouraged to participate in breast cancer screening, as this disease does not only affect women but can also impact men.
This urgent appeal was made by Vuli Ndlovu, the CEO of Cimas Health Group, during the Cimas Pink-Tober Breast Cancer Breakfast Meeting held at the organization’s office in Borrowdale, Harare, to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Ndlovu stated:
“Breast cancer continues to pose a major health issue, but early detection is crucial for saving lives. We are dedicated to offering accessible health solutions and educating our communities so that every woman has the chance for timely diagnosis and treatment.”

Health professionals acknowledge that while breast cancer in men is uncommon, it is important for all men, particularly those who are older, to stay alert and seek regular screenings.
Ndlovu emphasized that when breast cancer is identified at an early stage, it is highly manageable. Conversely, if the disease is detected later on, treatment can become significantly more challenging, especially if it has spread to other parts of the body.
