The Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court has granted R3,000 bail to self-proclaimed prophet Paseka ‘Mb*ro’ Motsoeneng, while his security guard was released with a warning.
Outside the court, Motsoeneng addressed the media, expressing that those accusing him of assault should consider themselves fortunate that he is a prophet.
“If I were not a prophet, I would have dealt with them harshly,” he remarked.
The two had been in custody for nearly 40 days. Motsoeneng stated that he has no intention of retaliating against those who destroyed his church or oppose him. He expressed a desire to reconcile with the family he believes caused this conflict.
Motsoeneng accused his son’s in-laws of making multiple false accusations against him, including claims that he engaged in bribery.
He also mentioned that he does not regret his time in jail, stating that he did it for the sake of his son.
Previously, Motsoeneng had been ordered not to engage with the media. However, outside the court, he clarified that his comments were about the charges against him and not about the witnesses.
The case is set to return to court next month.
