Patricia Kahlami, a woman from Budiriro has been stripped of her ownership of a valuable property in Avondale, following a betrayal of trust by the individual she appointed to manage it.
Patricia Kahlami, aged 51, had entrusted Louis Vesrimani, aged 75, with the management of her house situated along Lomagundi Road, valued at US$780,000. Since October 2023, Vesrimani had been overseeing the property on her behalf.
However, Patricia’s trust was shattered when she discovered that Louis had vanished, absconding with the ownership of the house. Prompted by this alarming revelation, she promptly reported the matter to the police, setting in motion a fraud investigation.
Confirming the incident, Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza revealed that Louis Vesrimani was facing charges of fraud.

According to Inspector Chakanza, Patricia had hired Louis to manage her ten apartments within the Avondale property. His responsibilities included rent collection from tenants, with funds supposed to be remitted to Patricia.
However, Louis allegedly orchestrated a deceitful scheme, clandestinely selling off the apartments without Patricia’s knowledge. The full extent of the deception became apparent when Patricia attempted to sell the apartments herself, only to discover that ownership of the property had been illicitly transferred.
The fraudulent transaction has resulted in a staggering loss amounting to US$780,000. As investigations continue into this egregious act of deception, Patricia Kahlami is left grappling with the repercussions of misplaced trust and financial betrayal
