Authorities are looking into two separate armed robbery incidents that occurred in Esigodini and Harare, resulting in the theft of US$45,000 and US$23,000, respectively.
In the first incident, which took place on October 5 at approximately 6:30 PM, two armed men entered a residence in Havane Township, Esigodini, and made off with US$45,000 in cash.
During the robbery, one of the occupants was shot in the chest and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Bulawayo, according to police spokesman Commissioner Paul Nyathi.
The second robbery occurred on October 3 at the premises of the Royal Intersec security company located on Lymington Road in Strathaven, Harare.
In this case, a group of eight unidentified individuals, armed with handguns and iron bars, assaulted a security guard on duty. They stole US$23,175 in cash, five firearms, seven pepper sprays, and seven pairs of handcuffs.
The police have issued a call for public assistance in their investigations, urging anyone with relevant information to reach out to their nearest police station.
