The conference, themed “Empowering Africa: Leveraging Sustainable Procurement in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA),” aims to explore how sustainable procurement can support environmental, social, and economic goals within the framework of AfCFTA.
PRAZ’s CEO, Mr. Clever Ruswa, highlighted the need to harmonize procurement regulations across African nations, facilitating trade and supporting local businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in accessing continental markets.
Additionally, the event seeks to promote partnerships among African countries and develop a strategic roadmap to ensure that sustainable procurement is integrated into AfCFTA’s broader goals, aligning with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 for long-term growth.
