He faces charges related to violations of the Road Traffic Act, including negligent driving and operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
Last week, Madungwe appeared before Magistrate Tafadzwa Miti and pleaded guilty to the charges. The incident occurred on August 6, 2024, around 10 AM, when Madungwe allegedly sideswiped a Nissan NP300, owned by Rutendo Kwinjo, while driving along Airport Road in Hatfield, Harare. The court heard that Madungwe turned right onto the main road, leading to the sideswipe. He was initially released from custody on Wednesday after the State, represented by prosecutor Nyamutswa, requested additional time to amend the case documents.
