Sad Ending to the Troubled Man Who Killed His Girlfriend!
A 26-year-old male passed away on Wednesday night at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital in Mutare. It is believed that the man killed his fiancée in Marondera following a dispute.
Echfel Musaida Gora, who was accused of murder, passed away in his hospital bed a few hours after making his first court appearance.
After a disagreement at Nyameni, Marondera, on Thursday of last week, Gora fatally stabbed his girlfriend, Sharon Mashowo, 29, with an okapi knife.
After leaving her to bleed to death, he locked her in his room and left.
Gora fled to Odzi where he attempted to commit suicide by consuming an unknown poisonous substance on Sunday.
After being brought to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital and being definitely identified, he was taken into custody on Monday.
Manicaland acting provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, confirmed Gora’s death.
“We have been informed that he (Gora) died yesterday evening. We are awaiting post-mortem results,” said Ass Insp Chinyoka.
