Harare, Zimbabwe – Popular Zimdancehall musical sensation Silent Killer is currently in police custody after being arrested on fraud charges.
Silent Killer, born Jimmy Mudereri, is presently held at ZRP Matapi facing fraud accusations. The “Zvichitobhowa” hitmaker is scheduled to appear at the Harare Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.
On 3 June, Seh Wish Entertainment engaged Silent Killer to perform and headline the Mambodo Birthday Bash on 22 June 2024. A spokesperson from the company told iHarare that Silent Killer charged them US$500 for the performance and they gave him a US$250 advance payment. They would pay the rest on the day of the show.
Seh Wish Entertainment then sent the artist the event flier to promote on his social media pages. The promoter was surprised when they realised Silent Killer never promoted the event, which he was headlining.
On the day of the event, fans thronged the event for “Ngwere” and he never showed up to rock them. Efforts to reach him out were fruitless as he ignored the calls from Seh Wish Entertainment.

Days later, the promoter managed to reach Silent Killer, and he was ill-mannered.
In a recorded call, Seh Wish Entertainment asked the chanter to pay back the money they paid him, and Silent Killer was rude:
“Iwewe wakadzorera vanhu here mari yawakatora pa gate? Indava uine hutsinye iwewe mpfanha iwewe? Haikona kuita zveruvengo uriwe wakauya uchikumbira. Brain dzako dzakadhakwa. Madiro acho aunoita profit ka akanyanya. Remember wakakumbira iwewe mari yako haitokwane.”
Silent Killer added that it won’t help matters to open a fraud case with the police.
Later, Silent Killer negotiated with the promoter, saying he was expecting a payment and would pay back the US$250. He never did.
Seh Wish Entertainment revealed that ZRP Matapi invited the musician to the station and he refused point blank to avail himself. The cops then apprehended him on Saturday, 13 July.
Police sources said that Silent Killer is currently in custody. The musician will be in court on 14 July on allegations of fraud.
Silent Killer’s management denied knowledge of the chanter’s arrest. They said they had not heard anything and his number was unreachable.
