Four women from Hatcliffe who are accused of brutally assaulting an alleged home wrecker are set to appear in court today to seek bail.
Zelpa Kanduza, Natasha Kanduza, Fortunate Tembo, and Olleyn Vinyungwi faced assault charges before Harare magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure over the weekend.
According to court records, the incident occurred when the four women went to the residence of Alice Chaichai in search of her. However, Chaichai was not present at the time.
Upon Chaichai’s return, she encountered the quartet waiting outside her home. Natasha confronted her, questioning whether she was involved in a romantic affair with Zelpa’s husband. Chaichai denied the accusation, which allegedly infuriated the group.

Subsequently, the four women reportedly launched a vicious assault on Chaichai, dragging her out of her house by her hair. They proceeded to physically assault her, punching and kicking her while she lay defenseless on the ground.
Zelpa allegedly kicked Chaichai repeatedly in the stomach, and the assailants tore her clothing before leaving her unconscious on the ground. A bystander intervened, covering Chaichai with a cloth to protect her modesty after the assault.
The entire incident was recorded and subsequently circulated on social media platforms, leading to the identification of the individuals involved in the assault.
The accused women are now facing legal consequences for their actions, with their appearance in court marking the initial steps in the judicial process to address the assault allegations.
