Thousands TurnUp For Mayweather In Mabvuku!

There was pomp and fanfare at the Mabvuku Number One Grounds as close to 10 000 people turned up for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see boxing icon Floyd “Money” Mayweather in the flesh.

The retired American boxer, who was undefeated in his 50 bout career, was at the centre of attraction yesterday afternoon.

He arrived yesterday morning aboard his private jet for a two-day tour courtesy of Better Brands Jewellery, owned by businessman Scott Sakupwanya.

This follows their meeting in the United Arab Emirates last year.

And, yesterday, thousands turned up at a venue which has moulded a number of sports stars from Mabvuku, who include boxer Monalisa “Queen of the Jungle” Sibanda.

Mayweather also demonstrated his shadow boxing skills with a punching bag and skipping rope.

The boxer attended a special dinner last night before heading to South Africa as part of “The Motherland Tour.”

Mayweather watched three exhibition fights, two of which involved Sibanda and the legendary Zvenyika “Mosquito” Arifonso.

Mosquito was elated to hold an exhibition fight in front of Mayweather.

“It was an honour to show my skills in the presence of Mayweather and to also show my son to the world,” he said.

Sibanda said:
