The Zimbabwe Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development has announced that the Masvingo-Glen Norah Loop and Mbudzi Interchange projects will be officially unveiled next week.
As reported by ZiMetro News, the ceremony will be overseen by Honourable Minister Felix Tapiwa Mhona (MP) and other distinguished guests.
Scheduled for September 16, 2024, at the Mbudzi Interchange Site Offices, the event will include prayers, introductions, speeches, and a tour of the project.
The Mbudzi Interchange project, which began in 2022 with a completion goal of July 31, 2024, has faced delays and will not meet its original deadline.
Officials report that the total cost for constructing the Mbudzi Interchange flyover is US$88 million.
This includes US$65 million for the interchange itself and US$23 million for associated costs such as detour roads, relocation, royalties, surveys, and professional fees.
The US$65 million estimate was provided by DNMZ, an internationally recognized firm from South Africa.
