Woman Arrested for Stealing Courtesy Vehicle from Croco Motors

Harare | Kudzayi Mungarepfupfu is accused of unlawfully and intentionally converting a motor vehicle for her own use, after she was given the vehicle as a courtesy to go and fetch her school children.

The incident occurred in May 2022, when Mungarepfupfu approached the Mount Pleasant Service Station for refueling her Mercedes Benz. She joined the diesel queue instead of the petrol queue, and when the fuel attendant asked her if her car was a diesel car, she said yes.

After refueling the car for a few seconds, the fuel attendant asked Mungarepfupfu again if her car was a diesel car, and that is when she realized that she had made a mistake.

The fuel attendant immediately stopped refueling the car, and the manager of the service station was called.

Mungarepfupfu and the complainant, who is the owner of the car, agreed that she would be given the car as a courtesy to go and fetch her school children, while her car was being drained of diesel.
