Michael Reza, the chairperson of the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC), has emphasized that no one is exempt in the campaign against corruption.
This statement follows ZACC’s announcement of acquiring additional documentary evidence related to an alleged case of money laundering and misuse of office. The case involves a contractual dispute between businesspersons Wicknell Chivayo, Mike Chimombe, and Moses Mpofu over the supply of election materials to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission.
Speaking to journalists during the swearing-in ceremony of High Court judges at the Constitutional Court in Harare on Monday, Reza asserted that ZACC would approach the investigation impartially and rigorously.

“We have documents ready to present to the three individuals. Although I hope this doesn’t affect the investigation, I want the public to know we have been actively pursuing this case,” he said.
“We have gathered substantial information, and if all goes according to plan, this will be presented in court with detailed facts and figures. You will see the evidence clearly.”
Reza also mentioned that if the three men do not come forward voluntarily, ZACC will take action to ensure their compliance.
“They have their rights, but we have a timeline to follow. If they don’t come to us, we will go to them,” he stated.
Reza assured Zimbabweans that ZACC is committed to thoroughly addressing corruption, leaving no stone unturned.
“ZACC is not powerless. President Emmerson Mnangagwa has declared that no one is above the law. I want everyone to know that we uphold this principle in our fight against corruption,” he affirmed.
