Following the recent by-elections, ZANU-PF has secured a two-thirds majority in parliament, holding 190 out of 280 seats in the National Assembly.
Farai Marapira, the party’s Director for Information and Publicity, emphasized that they will not misuse this significant majority. The victorious constituencies include Chegutu West, Seke, Goromonzi South, Mkoba North, Pelandaba-Tshabalala, and Zvimba East.

The confirmation of these results by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, through Chief Elections Officer Utloile Silaigwana, underscores the party’s strengthened position in the legislative body.
However, concerns have emerged regarding potential constitutional amendments favoring the ruling party. Rumors suggest President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s interest in seeking a third term post-2028, raising apprehensions about the misuse of the party’s newfound dominance.
