The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has prepared 4,000 ballot papers for upcoming local authority by-elections in Redcliff Municipality, Midlands Province, and Kusile Rural District Council (RDC), Matabeleland North Province, scheduled for Saturday. The by-elections will take place in Kwekwe Ward 3 and Lupane Ward 13.
In a recent announcement, Mr. Utloile Silaigwana, ZEC’s chief elections officer, assured that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure a smooth polling process on Saturday. The ballot papers were printed by the Printing and Minting Company of Zimbabwe Pvt (Ltd) in Harare, with an additional 8.25 percent contingency to address any unforeseen circumstances. Each ballot book contains 50 papers.
Accreditation for observing the elections is currently underway, with local observers charged US$10 or equivalent in local currency. African observers will pay US$100, while foreign embassy representatives in Zimbabwe will pay US$300.

Observers from countries outside Africa will be charged US$400. Zimbabwean media practitioners accredited by the Zimbabwe Media Commission (ZMC) will pay US$10, while those working for foreign media houses within Zimbabwe will pay US$100.
