Entrepreneur and philanthropist Dr. Smelly Dube of Gweru has been awarded the esteemed title of Honorary Professor of Mining and Industrial Development by El-Roi London University, a global institution situated in the United Kingdom.
Prof. Oluwafemi Esan, Vice-Chancellor and CEO of El-Roi London University, made the news immediately, praising Dr. Smelly Dube for his outstanding contributions to the sectors of mining and industrial development in Zimbabwe and throughout Africa.
The university wrote to Dr. Dube expressing how much it admired her exceptional accomplishments and leadership abilities, which closely matched the norms and values of the school. Huge support was shown for the Honorary Professorship proposal, which was a major turning point in Dr. Dube’s distinguished career.

Dr. Dube has already received a great deal of acclaim; last year, at the esteemed 13th African Achievers’ Awards held at the House of Lords in London, he was named Entrepreneur of the Year. Notably, influential people from a variety of fields attended the ceremony, which FORBES Magazine hailed as one of the most prestigious ones on the African continent.
Dr. Dube received the Global Corporate Leadership award at the African Achievers’ Awards in recognition of her outstanding achievements to the real estate industry and philanthropy. Dr. Dube’s influence on a global level was further highlighted by the fact that Ameenah Firdaus Gurib-Fakim, the former president of Mauritius, gave the award.
