ZIMSEC Adjusts Official RTGS Interbank Rate for June 2024 Exams

ZIMSEC announces shocking exam fees

The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has revised the official RTGS Interbank rate applicable to the June 2024 Ordinary and Advanced Level examinations, as well as Grade 6 and 7 exam fees paid in Zimbabwean Dollars (ZWL). This adjustment comes shortly after ZIMSEC’s initial announcement of the official rate to be utilized.

The new official RTGS Interbank rate for payments made in Zimbabwe Dollars between March 19, 2024, and March 26, 2024, is now ZWL 18,981 to 1 USD. Previously, the rate stood at ZWL 17,558 to 1 USD.

It’s important to emphasize that this updated rate is only applicable within the specified payment window, differing from the prior rate valid from March 13 to March 20, 2024.

Payment Protocol

ZIMSEC reiterates that examination fees should not be directly deposited into ZIMSEC accounts by individual parents. Instead, candidates or parents are instructed to make payments to the respective school or registration center, which will then transmit the funds to ZIMSEC. This protocol ensures proper accountability and tracking of payments.
