19-Year-Old Faces Murder Charge for Fatal Knife Attack Amid Love Affair Dispute
A 19-year-old man from Matobo is charged with murder following a brutal knife attack on a 22-year-old man. The altercation arose when the victim confronted the accused, alleging that he had been making advances towards the victim’s 15-year-old niece.
The police have verified the incident, which occurred on Saturday. This tragic event adds to a concerning trend of murder cases involving both teenage victims and offenders across the country.

In another story, Ashley Ndou, 23, and Prospect Ziyengwa, 27, both from Beitbridge, are accused of attempting to murder Ward 3 councillor Mr. Takavingei Mahachi on Independence Day. They allegedly stabbed him at his house in the Tshidixwa district, causing significant injuries to his left arm and chest. The attackers then fled with the assistance of a third individual who remains unidentified.
Ndou and Ziyengwa appeared in court before resident judge Mr. Takudzwa Gwazemba of Beitbridge, where they were charged with attempted murder. They did not enter a plea and were remanded in custody until May 6.
The incident occurred around 9 o’clock on Independence Day when the three attackers ambushed Councillor Mahachi near his parked car, but their actions were witnessed by a neighbor.
