41 Graves Exhumed Pave way For Eureka Gold mine Expansion

Eureka Gold Mine, a subsidiary of Delta Gold Zimbabwe, has recently issued a notice in compliance with the Cemeteries Act CAPS5:04, outlining their intention to exhume and relocate 41 graves situated in Mazhambe Village, Ward 6, Guruve Rural District, under the governance of Chief Chipuriro.

Recognising the importance and sensitivity of such procedures, Eureka Gold Mine adheres to legal and ethical issues. As a result, we pledge to treat the deceased and their families with the highest regard, dignity, and reverence during the exhumation and relocation procedure.

We extend an invitation to all relevant parties, including the relatives of the deceased, local authorities, and interested parties, to take part in consultations on this topic as part of our commitment to openness and community involvement. We promise to see to it that the procedure is conducted in a way that preserves the gravesites’ purity and pays tribute to the deceased.

Moreover, Eureka Gold Mine is still committed to minimising any possible effects on the environment and neighbourhood. Throughout the relocation process, we will take the necessary steps to minimise interruption and maintain the wellbeing of all parties involved.
