Mai Titi explains the deportation issue
Zimbabwean comedian Felistas Murata, better known as Mai Titi, recently shed light on her deportation issue from the UK. According to Mai Titi, upon her arrival in the UK, authorities were already aware of her visits and suspected work activities, which prompted an investigation.
Mai Titi clarified that she does not engage in work while in the UK. Instead, she explained that her trips are solely for delivering pre-paid products to her clients, who have already made online payments while she is in Zimbabwe.
During the inspection, immigration officials found cosmetics and curtains in Mai Titi’s luggage, which she intended to deliver to her clients. She revealed that authorities conducted an interview regarding her business operations in the UK. Mai Titi was honest in explaining that clients pay for her services through her accounts or platforms like WorldRemit.
After a thorough two-hour inquiry, immigration authorities concluded that Mai Titi’s activities were considered employment, necessitating the appropriate work visa. Contrary to rumors, Mai Titi clarified that she was not banned from the UK for ten years. Instead, she was informed that bringing and distributing products in the UK without the appropriate visa was considered employment, prompting the authorities to deny her entry with her products.
