The victim, identified as 31-year-old Xichavo Ntsanwisi, was a respected employee of the Greater Giyani Municipality. He was found dead with a single, fatal stab wound to his upper chest at his residence in the Colnbrook Estate, Noordwyk.

The suspect, Jo-Ann Ntokoto Mabasa, from Kremetart, Giyani, was found at the scene by police. She reportedly confessed to the crime and was arrested without resistance. Authorities also recovered a knife with a yellow handle, which is believed to be the murder weapon. Paramedics from Netcare Ambulance pronounced Mr. Ntsanwisi dead at the scene.
