Eligibility Requirements:
To qualify for an International Fellowship, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a country other than the U.S. or possess a nonimmigrant visa while residing in the U.S. (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or dual citizens with the U.S. and another country are not eligible).
- Hold an academic degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree, either from a U.S. institution or abroad.
- Plan to devote full-time to their proposed academic program during the fellowship year.
- Commit to returning to their home country to pursue a professional career after completing their studies.
- Be proficient in English and provide valid TOEFL or IELTS scores to confirm their proficiency (TOEFL iBT: 79; TOEFL Essentials: 8.5; Revised TOEFL Paper-Delivered Test: 60; IELTS: 6.5).
- For Master’s/first professional degree and doctoral applicants: Apply to an accredited institution in the U.S. by November 15, indicating the institution in the application. Acceptance is not required at the time of application, but official confirmation must be provided with the award acceptance materials.
- For postdoctoral applicants: Submit proof of their doctorate degree, hold a doctorate classified as a research degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D., D.B.A., D.M.), or an M.F.A., and specify the research location.
- Master’s/first professional degree and doctoral applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. accredited institution during the fellowship year.
