Actor Jimmy Mudereri says that on Monday night, while driving home, he was attacked for endorsing Wicknell Chivayo’s automobile gifts to a variety of people, including artists.
He said that during the altercation, his cell phone shattered as well.
Over ten drama series on ZBC TV, including Dead End, Hama Maoko, Tiriparwendo, Goriza, Tsiurika, Nherera Mwana, and Zvichazodii, have starred Mudereri.
In addition, he managed Mark Ngwazi for the first time and is now in charge of Pardon Ndigume and Orchestra Mufaro.
He claimed to H-Metro that as he was travelling in a truck to his Seke house, a heated argument broke out amongst the other passengers about Chivayo’s contributions of cars.
Although other passengers publicly expressed their displeasure with the gifts, Mudereri said he chose to support Chivayo.
“I am praying for Sir Wicknell to continue doing such good things,” Mudereri said during their discussion of his efforts to provide automobiles to certain people.
“After a violent altercation amongst a few irate passengers, this man grabbed me by the collar and hit me in the face.
In the process, my phone shattered because we got into a fight, apa mota ichitofamba.
“Vamwe ndivo vakatozopindira, and the vehicle came to a stop.”
“We then came to an agreement and left for home.”
Estimates from our sister publication The Sunday Mail place the businessman’s automobile purchases in recent years at about US$5 million, not counting his personal fleet.
He has expanded his collection of luxury vehicles to include a Rolls Royce Cullinan, a Mercedes Benz Mayback GLS600, and a Range Rover.
The automobiles he gifted to DJ Fantan and Sandra Ndebele cost a total of US$180000, while the Mercedes Benz S600 he gave to Jah Prayzah cost US$180000.
Similar contributions have been made in honour of Suluman Chimbetu and Chief Hwenje, for example.
Not only have Chivayo’s automobile contributions benefited the celebs, but also his in-laws, church leaders, and other family members.

Public opinion on the gifts is split; some claim that the funds would have been better used to buy and provide medications to hospitals.
Or, as others have it, investing in underprivileged students who are having difficulty paying for their education.
Many, however, have also supported Chivayo for keeping his word and supporting people who he feels should be compensated.
